Nepal’s First Flying Car to Debut at NADA Auto Show 2025 by Deepal

Kathmandu, Nepal is set to witness its first public showcase of a flying car as Deepal, a sub-brand of Changan Automobile, will unveil its electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft at the NADA Auto Show 2025, scheduled from August 19 to 24.

The landmark event marks MAW Vriddhi Autocorp as the first company in Nepal to present a flying car to the public, a historic milestone for the country’s automotive and aviation sectors.

Flying Car Debut at Nepal’s Premier Auto Expo

The Deepal eVTOL(EHang EH216-S) will be exhibited during the five-day NADA Auto Show at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, which is expected to draw massive crowds and media attention. The flying car, designed for Urban Air Mobility (UAM), is the result of a strategic alliance between EHang and Changan Automobile, formed on December 21, 2024.

EHang and Changan’s Strategic Partnership

This collaboration combines Changan’s automotive manufacturing capabilities with EHang’s advanced autonomous flying technology. The partnership aims to co-develop:

  1. eVTOL aircraft
  2. Amphibious air-land mobility solutions
  3. Scalable urban air transportation platforms

“Our goal is to make flying vehicles accessible to everyone, not just luxury innovations for the elite,” the companies announced in a joint release.

Notably, EHang is credited with launching the world’s first autonomous passenger-carrying eVTOL, setting a global precedent in aerial mobility.

While detailed specifications of the Deepal eVTOL are yet to be publicly disclosed, it is expected to reflect cutting-edge developments in:

The 17th edition of the NADA Auto Show will feature a record-breaking 36 automotive brands, including participation from electric and commercial vehicle segments.

According to NADA President Karan Chaudhary, this year’s event is focused on promoting futuristic mobility solutions alongside classic automotive heritage.

“For the first time, we’re showcasing everything from robots to flying cars in one event,” Chaudhary said during the press conference on August 5.
