KTM RC 160

The KTM RC 160 is KTM’s latest entry-level fully-faired sportbike, recently launched in India and expected to arrive in Nepal in the near future through Hansraj Hulaschand & Co., the authorized distributor of KTM motorcycles in Nepal. While the bike is not officially available in Nepal yet, it is expected to be positioned below the RC 200, with an estimated price range of Rs. 6.30 – 6.60 Lakhs once launched.

Designed to replace the RC 125 globally, the RC 160 comes with a more powerful 164.2cc BS6 Phase 2B-compliant engine, making it significantly more performance-oriented. It is powered by a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with self-start only, producing a strong 18.73 bhp at 9,500 rpm, which puts it directly against the Yamaha R15 in the Nepalese market. The bike also benefits from KTM’s race-derived hardware, including a trellis frame, WP suspension, and disc brakes with dual-channel ABS.

KTM RC 160 Performance

The KTM RC 160 delivers a sharp and engaging performance that is well-suited for sporty riders and track-focused enthusiasts. Its 164.2cc liquid-cooled engine offers quick throttle response, strong mid-range punch, and impressive top-end performance. With 18.73 bhp and 15.5 Nm of torque, the bike feels noticeably quicker than the RC 125, while the 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch ensures smooth downshifts and aggressive corner entry. A claimed top speed of around 118 kmph makes it capable enough for both highways and spirited weekend rides.

KTM RC 160 Design

The design of the KTM RC 160 is heavily inspired by its larger siblings, the RC 200 and RC 390. It features an aggressive, track-focused stance with sharp fairings, a low-slung windscreen, and a muscular fuel tank. The aerodynamic bodywork not only enhances visual appeal but also improves high-speed stability. The split seat setup, rear-set footpegs, and clip-on handlebars reinforce its supersport DNA, making it one of the most aggressive-looking motorcycles in its segment.

KTM RC 160 Features

The KTM RC 160 comes well-equipped with modern features that complement its sporty character. It offers a fully digital 5-inch LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and essential ride data. Safety is handled by dual-channel ABS, while the WP inverted front forks and adjustable rear mono-shock ensure precise handling and stability at higher speeds.

KTM RC 160 Price in Nepal and Availability

The KTM RC 160 is not officially available in Nepal yet, as the model has only been launched in the Indian market. However, considering KTM Nepal’s existing lineup and pricing structure, the RC 160 is expected to be introduced as a single standard variant with limited cosmetic customization. Once launched, the estimated price of KTM RC 160 in Nepal is expected to range between Rs. 6.30 Lakhs and Rs. 6.60 Lakhs, positioning it neatly between the RC 125 and RC 200. With this pricing, the RC 160 is likely to appeal to riders looking for a more powerful and track-focused alternative to entry-level sportbikes like the Yamaha R15, without stepping into higher displacement categories.
