The Omoda 5 EV is a bold new entrant in Nepal’s electric SUV segment, distributed by SPG Automobiles, the official representative of Chery’s Omoda sub-brand. Priced between Rs. 61.99 Lakhs and Rs. 62.49 Lakhs, the Omoda 5 EV marks Chery’s premium EV debut in Nepal. Introduced recently with a revised price post its introductory offer, it now comes in both Single Tone and Dual Tone color variants.

Powered by a 99kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, the Omoda 5 EV is paired with a 61kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate Blade Battery, delivering an impressive range of 430 km (WLTP). Built with Nepal’s unique road conditions in mind, it features an optimal 180mm ground clearance and customized drivetrain, ensuring high performance and versatility. With a maximum power output of 132 PS and 340 Nm of torque, the SUV promises a refined yet powerful drive.

The Omoda 5 EV delivers a refined blend of efficiency and strength. With its 99kW PMSM motor producing 132 PS of power and 340 Nm of torque, the vehicle sprints with seamless acceleration. Whether in city traffic or on winding highways, the FWD system, 180mm ground clearance, and MacPherson Strut suspension ensure superb handling and comfort. Its top speed of 172 kmph and quick-charging capabilities (80% in 30 minutes with DC fast charging) further make it a practical yet exciting electric SUV for Nepalese roads.

Sleek, modern, and futuristic, the Omoda 5 EV inherits its ICE sibling’s dynamic presence but adds EV-specific styling. The closed front grille, T-shaped LED DRLs, separate LED headlamps, and a floating roofline give it a tech-forward aesthetic. The rear end flaunts staggered matrix LED tail lights and sculpted bumpers, complemented by 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Available in vibrant colors like White, Black, Red, Blue, Grey, Silver, and Aquatic, it stands out boldly on the streets of Kathmandu or the highways to Pokhara.

Step inside the Omoda 5 EV and you’re greeted by a cabin that blends futurism with functionality. The dual 10.25-inch displays stretch across the dashboard, offering infotainment and instrument cluster functionalities. 256-color ambient lighting, chromed finishes, and a premium Sony speaker system elevate the ambiance. The cabin is surprisingly spacious for a compact SUV, with ample legroom, luxury-grade synthetic upholstery, and thoughtful additions like a sunroof, wireless charging, and V2L power output. The rear seats fold flat to increase the 360L boot to 1026L, making it a practical family EV.

Omoda 5 EV Safety & Features

The Omoda 5 EV doesn’t compromise on safety or innovation. Equipped with 17+ ADAS features, the EV includes ABS, ESC, Hill Assist, 360° camera, and Lane Keep Assist, bringing Level 2 Semi-Autonomous Driving (L2S) to Nepali roads. Its Blade battery ensures long-term safety and reliability, backed by an 8-year warranty on both the battery and motor.

Omoda 5 EV Price in Nepal and Availability

The Omoda 5 EV is available in two variants: Single Tone and Dual Tone, with only a minor price difference. The Single Tone variant is priced at Rs. 61,99,000, while the Dual Tone version is available for Rs. 62,49,000.

Each purchase includes a standard 8-year warranty on both the battery and motor. The model is currently available at Omoda’s showroom in Uttardhoka, Kathmandu.
